We are developing a comprehensive web-based portal to a SQL DB. Programming projects involve creating front and back end code for new applications on the office website (using Java), integrating the website with the UT EID system, integrating the SQL system with another PC application (through its API), and with an additional web-services (through XML). Additional projects include completing development of a software download site and integrating it with the UT credit card validation system.
Preferred skills include: Java, JavaScript/AJAX, Apache/JBoss, Spring/Struts application frameworks, MS SQL, and Linux (Red Hat). Graphic skills are not necessary. The right candidate for this job (in addition to being able to program) will be highly motivated, capable of iteratively refining incomplete specifications, affirmatively want to create and document code that will be used by faculty, staff, students, and industry, and have a history of completing projects on time.

Job Description:
Work with the software development team in Austin, TX to understand software systems and assist with design of major pieces of new or existing products. This will likely include work on GUI development, TCP/IP stack design, and security modules.

- Follow the guidelines of the senior development team member to assist with programming required modules.
- Analyze and interpret test data and try to find the root cause of the issues, and resolve them.
