Hello,
I am a 28 yo female moving to Austin to start grad school (Public Affairs) at UT. I found a great deal on a 2 bedroom apartment in downtown Austin and I'm looking for a roommate to share it with me.
The Apartment:
Brand new complex, location at 5 & N. Lamar convenient to downtown, buses, UT, Whole Foods, Town Lake, etc. Amenities include pool, gym, free wireless internet in courtyard areas and free covered parking.

It's the Palermo floorplan -- 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1185 square feet, balcony.
Rent is $833 / month plus half of utilities. For a monthly rental fee under $30, we'll have a washer and dryer inside the unit. I need wireless internet in the apartment, but I'd be happy to live without cable TV.
Me:
I'm moving from DC (but please don't hold that against me. I'm not as uptight as that and the Public Affairs degree might lead you to believe) and am excited to explore a new part of the country. I love live music and have increasingly become interested in outdoor sports, so those are both big draws to Austin. It's hard for me to say what my lifestyle will be like as a student -- I expect to be busy with schoolwork and will probably spend a fair amount of time studying at the apartment. However, I like to go out and am looking forward to meeting new people in Austin, so I hope to balance a social life into my schedule as well. I've worked as a bartender in the past, and I may do that part-time. I don't have any particular preferences for gender, age, orientation, etc. All I ask for in a roommate is that you are friendly and respectful, and you can expect the same from me.
The lease is 12-months and you would need to fill out an application through the apartment complex. I'm planning to move in on or around August 15, but I can be flexible with roommate move-in dates if you need to move in a bit before or after that. The staff at the complex is extremely friendly & helpful -- I can put you in touch with them and they'll be happy to show you the place.
