Description

• Generate ideas for content for over 40 special editions of The Daily Texan
• Research determined articles for angles and subjects for writers
• Recruit writers in classes
• Meet with writers at the beginning of each semester to make assignments
• Write articles that surface during the semester
• Schedule photo shoots, write photo assignments and submit to photography adviser
• Edit articles and return to the writers for approvals and revisions
• Coordinate flow of content–articles and photos. Provide supplement schedules
• Proof layout
• Compose headlines and photo captions
• Compose surveys in Survey Monkey for special editions, namely UTmost, Sex 101, and Bevo’s Wish List
• Tally and compile survey results for use as content.
• Send copies to businesses featured in the editions.
• Submit payroll requests for writers and photographers for each edition.
• Marketing: housing fair, readership campaign, press releases, fliers, house ads
